Hast du die ursprüngliche TV Serie aus dem Vereinigten Königreich/Irland gesehen?
Ich bin gerade dabei mich durch das originale Primeval durch zu arbeiten. Es macht wirklich Spaß es wegen der Parallelen und einzigartigen Feinheiten beider Serien zu schauen.
Wie bist du zu Primeval New World gekommen?
Das wundervolle Produktionsteam hatte seit dem Startschuss den Glauben an mich. Ich bin so geehrt das sie mögen was ich ihnen als Dylan Weir anbiete.
Wie war es mit nicht zu sehenden Kreaturen wie dem Albertosaurus zu schauspielern?
Es ist eine große Herausforderung mit unsichtbaren Kreaturen zu arbeiten und sich vorzustellen, wie sie auftauchen werden, wenn die Episode fertig ist. Ich liebe es. Ich bin ein großer Befürworter von Schauspielern welche viel Fantasie besitzen.
Was kannst du uns über deinen Charakter erzählen?
Dylan (Weir) ist ein Prädator Experte. Ihr Fähigkeiten über Tier Verhalten machen sie zu einer unverzichtbaren Mitarbeiterin für Evan Cross. Sie ist auch sehr instinktiv und erfinderisch. Ich würde mit ziemlicher Sicherheit behaupten, dass sie früher mit dem Bauen von Baumhäusern in den Wäldern aufgewachsen ist.
Hast du ein Lieblingszitat aus dem Drehbuch?
Bisher ist für mich eine Lieblingszeile eines Dialoges: "Trust me, the boy who cried Sisiutl is the least of your worries."
Ist etwas wirklich witziges am Set passiert?
In einer kürzlich gedrehten Episode hat unsere Requisiten Abteilung eine Art ausgestopftes Tier/Muppet als Kreatur für die Episode benutzt. Jemand rannte damit zur Verdeutlichung durch eine Szene und machte ein passendes Geräusch dazu. Es war unmöglich nicht zu lachen.
Wie ist die Stimmung am Set?
Ich bin so dankbar mit diesem Cast und dieser Crew zusammen zu arbeiten. Sie wurden für mich so schnell eine Familie. Die Stimmung ist fröhlich und spaßig, aber auch immer professionell.
Wie lang wird der Dreh der 13 Episoden andauern, wenn man die Postproduction weglässt?
Wir werden die erste Staffel von März bis Juni 2012 drehen.
Was sind deine Lieblingsfernsehserien?
Ich sehe wirklich gerne 30 Rock und The Office, sowie vieles was auf HBO (Amerikanischer PayTV Sender) läuft.
Sprichst oder verstehst du Deutsch?
Ich hatte das Glück ein paar deutsche Sätze im Oktober 2011 zu lernen, als ich zu Gast auf der Ring Con war. Deutsche Fans sind einmalig. Ich kann es kaum erwarten Deutschland erneut zu besuchen um es zu erkunden.

Did you watch the original TV series from the United Kingdom/Ireland?
I am now making my way through the original Primeval series! It's really fun to watch for the parallels and unique nuances of each show.
How get you involved to Primeval New World?
The wonderful team of producers had faith in me from the get-go. I'm so honored they liked what I brought to the table as Dylan Weir.
How is it to act with an imaginary creature like Albertosaurus (mentioned from Martin Wood)?
It's such a great challenge to be working with invisible creatures and imagining how they will appear when the episode's completed. I love it. I'm a big advocate of actors having huge imaginations.
What can you tell us about your character? (e. g. role in the team, tasks)
Dylan is a predator expert. Her skill with animal behaviour makes her a fantastic asset to Evan Cross. She's also very intuitive and inventive. I'd say it's safe to say she grew up building tree forts in the woods.
Do you have a favourite quote from the script?
So far, a favorite line of dialogue for me has been "Trust me, the boy who cried Sisiutl is the least of your worries."
Did something really funny happened on the set?
In a recent episode, our props department created a stuffed animal/muppet type stand-in for the episode's creature. Someone ran through a scene with it as a reference, making what they thought was an appropriate noise. It was impossible not to laugh.
How is the mood on the set?
I'm so grateful to be working with this cast and crew. They've so quickly become my family. The mood on set is light-hearted and fun, but also always professional.
How long will it take to shoot all 13 episodes except of post production?
We will be shooting the first season from March to July, 2012.
What are your favourite TV series?
I really love 30 Rock and The Office, as well as much of what's on HBO!
Do you speak or understand German?
I was lucky enough to learn a few German phrases in October of 2011 when I was a guest at Ring Con. German fans are amazing. I can't wait to return to Germany and really explore.
